| Fishing Nets
Remember to always clean your nets after use as it will help prevent any spread of fish diseases.

Landing Nets
A landing net should be used if you have a fish larger than about ½ a pound. There are a few different types of landing nets, try to choose one with a good sized frame, because if you do land a big fish it will be easier to bring in. You can get circular, triangular and pan nets. The net will helpprevent the fish injuring itself as it won’t flap around as much, nets made with knotless material are best for the safety of the fish.

Keepnets
If you want to keep all of your catch until the end of the day, you will need a keepnet. This shouldn’t be a problem for the fish, as long as a spacious net is used, so that the fish can move around a bit. It is best to use a net made of knotless material, actually some River Authorities have bye laws governing keepnets, so it would be best to check these before you fish in that area. Remember to keep your net near to your position and close to the water surface, so you can easily and gently place the fish in. |
